Posted by Dr. Samuel J. Beran on Oct 9, 2019 7:00:00 AM

One of the most satisfying aspects about being a plastic surgeon is enabling women to achieve the breast size and shape they’ve always wanted. If having larger breasts is their goal, I recommend breast augmentation using breast implants, a safe, long-term, highly successful way to get the breast size they’re looking for. To learn about the range of breast shaping procedures I offer, click here

For larger, fuller, firmer breasts, breast augmentation is a great option.

Breast augmentation surgery is typically performed to enlarge small breasts, underdeveloped breasts or breasts that have decreased in size after a woman has had children. Breast augmentation can also make breasts more symmetrical if one is significantly larger than the other. If you are a good candidate for breast augmentation without a lift or other surgery, you may qualify for our special pricing.

For Great Breast Implant Results, Go To A Great Plastic Surgeon

Posted by Dr. Samuel J. Beran on Sep 11, 2019 7:00:00 AM

Have you always wanted bigger breasts than the ones you were born with? Or, have you have a mastectomy and are considering reconstructive surgery with breast implants?

Before deciding to have breast augmentation, it is very important to make sure your plastic surgeon is qualified to perform this highly specialized surgery. He/she should be board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and be a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons as well as the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. In addition, your surgeon should be very experienced in performing this procedure, i.e., not “practicing” on you and your breasts.

In both of these areas, I can confidently say that I am highly qualified and extremely experienced in performing breast implant surgery, with excellent results. In addition to breast augmentation, I offer a complete range of breast procedures which you can learn about here.

Recently, many women around the world, including a number of my patients, have become concerned to learn that textured breast implants made by Allergan that have been linked to an unusual type of cancer are being recalled in the United States at the request of the Food and Drug Administration. These textured implants will also be recalled globally.

According to an announcement by the FDA, the recall concerns Allergan’s BIOCELL textured breast implants and tissue expanders. You can read the FDA announcement here

Do You Have Textured Breast Implants? Here’s Why You Should Contact Your Surgeon.

Posted by Dr. Samuel J. Beran on Dec 20, 2018 12:10:56 PM

In the last few days, I have heard from a few of my patients who read a recent article in The New York Times stating that breast implants made by Allergan that have a textured or slightly roughened surface, rather than a smooth covering, have been linked to a rare form of cancer called breast implant-associated anaplastic large-cell lymphoma and are being taken off the market in Europe.

There has also been a recent report from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons discussing anaplastic large-cell lymphoma. (To read the report, click here.) Naturally, they are concerned.

I only use smooth, not textured, breast implants

To reassure all of my patients with breast implants, as well as those who are considering getting breast implants, I want to state very clearly:

I have always used ONLY smooth implants for my breast augmentation patients, not the textured ones cited in these two sources. The recent concerns do not involve these types of implants and my breast augmentation patients do NOT need to be concerned about this.
