For Great Breast Implant Results, Choose A Great Plastic Surgeon

Before deciding to have breast augmentation, it is very important to make sure your plastic surgeon is qualified to perform this highly specialized surgery. He/she should be board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and be a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons as well as the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. In addition, your surgeon should be very experienced in performing this procedure, i.e., not “practicing” on you and your breasts.

My credentials as a plastic surgeon

I perform procedures at the Surgical Specialty Center of Westchester

For almost every plastic surgery procedure I perform, I use the Surgical Specialty Center of Westchester. As the standard of excellence in the region, this technologically advanced, leading-edge facility was specifically designed by our group of surgeons (Cosmetic Surgery Associates) to provide our patients with the highest level of care, personal privacy and optimal surgical results.

Located in Harrison, NY, the Surgical Specialty Center has four operating rooms and an 11-bed recovery area. Each operating room is fully equipped with state-of-the-art anesthesia provided by a board-certified anesthesiologist, emergency equipment and the most advanced technology available, enabling myself and my surgical team to provide the highest standard of care to each of our patients.

As well as the anesthesiologist, there are two other medical professionals present during every procedure: a scrub technician and an extensively trained, highly experienced registered nurse. However, I want to make it clear that I myself perform every incision and every stitch.

Very experienced in performing breast augmentation

In my plastic surgery practice in Westchester, NY, I have performed hundreds of successful breast augmentation procedures for more than 20 years, with very few complications.

I offer three types of breast implants, all of them safe

Silicone breast implants—filled with silicone gel.
Saline breast implants—filled with saline (sterile saltwater).
Natrelle® gummy breast implants—filled with silicone gel. Choose from five profiles (low to extra full), four degrees of fullness (minimal to maximum) and three levels of cohesivity (gumminess).

Most women—and most plastic surgeons, myself included—prefer the look and feel of silicone implants rather than saline. Silicone implants are generally considered to look and feel more like real breast tissue, while saline implants are more prone to cause rippling of the skin. Women are also reporting high satisfaction rates with the new gummy versions because they can choose the size and shape of their implants for a more customized, unique look.

I do not use textured breast implants that have recently been recalled

For anyone who has read about or heard the news stories about the problems associated with textured breast implants, I want to clearly state that I only use smooth breast implants for my breast augmentation patients, not textured ones. Therefore, none of my patients have to worry about the recent Allergan BIOCELL recall. I’ve written a blog on this subject which you can read here.

If you have breast implants, you should get them checked regularly

If you have breast implants—saline, silicone, gummy or textured—it’s important to get them checked for ruptures, slippage, leakage, swelling or any other potential problems. For all my patients with implants, I highly recommend getting them examined once a year. Please make an appointment to come in and see me so I can check for any problems.
