I often hear from my patients how much they like the way I explain what will happen during a certain plastic surgery procedure and that I let them know about the risks as well as the benefits of the surgery, in terms that are easy to understand.
To share this kind of information with others and help patients make up their mind about having a procedure, I’ve made a video explaining the Brazilian butt lift. In addition to the Brazilian butt lift, I also offer a wide range of other body sculpting procedures to help you achieve a more shapely body, which you can learn about here.

How to know if you’re a good candidate for a Brazilian butt lift
Generally speaking, you need to be healthy, in good physical shape, have enough fat to remove from one place and move it into the buttocks, and be willing to undergo the recovery process from a procedure that is not insignificant.
In addition, you’ll need to stay off the buttocks for around 6 weeks. The more you sit on it, the less the fat will “take. “
What’s the difference between a Brazilian butt lift and butt implants?
Butt implants are made of artificial material, the same way breast implants are. In contrast, the Brazilian butt lift removes your own fat and then transfers it into the buttocks like a graft. With liposuction, I take living tissue—your fat—and move it into the buttocks where it’s getting a new blood supply and thriving in the new space. So it will react the same way your normal fat does. If you gain weight, these fat cells will get bigger, and if you lose weight, they’ll get smaller.
Is it safe?
This is the #1 question everybody asks. Like every surgical procedure, there are some risks involved, but if done properly, in the right setting, in the right patients, this procedure can be done very safely.
Is it permanent?
This is another questions many patients ask. The results of the Brazilian butt lift will be long term. Of the harvested fat I put into the buttocks, roughly half of it will be absorbed by the body just from the transmission process, but the other half will stay. The half that stays will be there pretty much for the rest of your life. With a new blood supply, that fat will live and thrive like your current fat does.
Should I gain a few pounds before a Brazilian butt lift?
What I tell patients is that I prefer them to be around their normal weight. If you gain some weight and then you’re going to lose it again, that fat will reabsorb the same way as if you lost weight anyway.
The ideal candidate is someone who wants their buttocks is enhanced, who has a little bit of extra fat here and there, most commonly around the stomach, the love handles, the back, the inner thighs. I can remove that fat, shape the body with liposuction, and enhance the buttocks at the same time.

Insurance coverage
Insurance companies consider a Brazilian butt lift to be elective cosmetic surgery and usually do not cover it, which means the procedure would be self-pay.
