Are you unhappy with the size and shape of your butt? Do you wish it was rounder, higher, firmer? A Brazilian butt lift is an excellent way to achieve the derrière you’ve always wanted. In addition, this procedure, also called butt augmentation, can help you achieve a more pleasing balance between the shape, size and contour of your buttocks in proportion to the rest of your body. In addition to the Brazilian butt lift, I offer a complete range of body shaping procedures which you can learn about here.
Learn if you’re a good candidate for a Brazilian butt lift in this short video
No matter which type of plastic surgery procedure my patients are considering, I firmly believe that the best patient is an informed patient. It's important to me that before you have a procedure, you have all the information you need to make the decision that's right for you.
That's why I like providing short videos where I briefly explain a certain body sculpting procedure—in this case, the Brazilian butt lift. You can read below what I talk about or you can watch my video by clicking here or on the image below.
What exactly is a Brazilian butt lift?
The Brazilian butt lift is a surgical technique where we take fat from one area of the body — like the stomach, love handles and back — and we transfer it to another area: the buttocks. It both fills out the buttocks — makes them rounder and gives a woman a fuller figure who needs one — and lifts the buttocks at the same time.
Questions one should ask about Brazilian butt lifts
- Are you a good candidate for it?
- Is it a good idea, is there a need to move fat from one place to another?
- Do you have extra fat in one spot, and is there enough of it so we can make a difference?
Some patients are very fit and don’t have a lot of extra fat that we can move around. But assuming there’s enough fat and assuming there’s a need to enhance the buttocks, I’ll talk here about what the Brazilian butt lift actually does and the questions people most commonly ask.
Does it last?
We’re going to be removing live tissue, live fat cells, and moving them to another area of the body. About half of those fat cells will survive that transport. The other half generally won’t. So we overcorrect. We put extra fat from what we harvested in multiple layers into the fat in the buttocks to then enhance the shape of the butt, but we know we’re going to have to put in more than we want to survive because we know that all of it won’t live.
What can I expect afterward?
Initially, your buttocks will be overfilled but the transported fat will eventually settle out to the right amount.
Is it a safe procedure?
Generally speaking, the procedure is done under heavy sedation or general anesthesia. It’s a very safe procedure if performed correctly. There are risks like any procedure but they are very manageable if the correct technique is used for the Brazilian butt lift.
Is this the right procedure for me?
The best way to make that determination is to come in, we do an examination, we see what fat there is to harvest, and where we want to place that fat. In some women, it’s more toward the sides of the butt. In others, it’s top to bottom: more on the top, more on the bottom. And then for some, it’s all of it. It just depends, proportionally speaking, on where we need to do the enhancement.
A Brazilian butt lift uses your own fat so there’s no chance of rejection
During Brazilian butt lift surgery, I use liposuction to remove excess fat from certain parts of your body and transfer it to the buttock area to give you a higher, plumper and more rounded butt. I can also slim and trim away where you have too much fat while building up the areas where you would like more fullness. Since this fat is from your own body, there’s no chance of rejection

How much does a butt lift cost?
One of the first questions my patients ask me when they’re considering having a Brazilian butt lift is how much it will cost. My answer is that there is no one standard price. Recognizing that every woman’s body and expectations for butt augmentation surgery are unique to her, I determine the exact cost of a Brazilian butt lift after I have met with the patient, evaluated her body type, amount of fat stores, overall physical condition and her personal goals and expectations. For further pricing details, please contact me.
