These days, a large, high, firm derrière is something many women want, but few are born with this part of the body in the proportions they think are most attractive. Now there's a beautiful solution: A Brazilian butt lift (also called butt augmentation).
Using your own fat and including both butt augmentation and butt reshaping, this popular body shaping procedure has an added benefit: as well as giving you a higher, bigger butt, a Brazilian butt lift can also create a more pleasing balance between the shape, size and contour of your buttocks in proportion to the rest of your body.
A new shape as well as a new butt
When you combine a Brazilian butt lift with other body contouring techniques, particularly liposuction, you get a double benefit: the body shaping aspect of liposuction and the enhancement aspect of a higher and firmer butt. During the procedure, the size, shape and fullness of your butt as well as other parts of your thighs and mid-section are meticulously and artfully sculpted, giving you amazingly natural-looking results. Brazilian butt lift uses your own fat so there’s no chance of rejection
During Brazilian butt lift surgery, I use liposuction to remove excess fat from certain parts of your body and transfer it to the buttock area to give you a higher, plumper and more rounded butt. Typically, I extract this fat from the lower back, “love handles” and abdomen and use it to shape the top and sides of the butt.
In addition, I can slim and trim away where you have too much fat while building up where you would like more fullness. Many of my patients take advantage of liposuction used in a Brazilian butt lift to remove fat from their tummy, waist area and thighs, giving them the beautiful, sexy hourglass silhouette they’ve always wanted.
A beautiful way to turn back time
As the years go by, it's very common for the butt to droop and sag. These changes are often caused by:
- Pregnancy
- Weight gain
- Weight loss
- Genetics
- Aging
A Brazilian butt lift can not only reverse these changes but can also give you a firmer, more shapely butt than you had before.
Is a Brazilian butt lift safe?
Yes, I believe the Brazilian butt lift procedure is very safe. The procedure is extremely popular and I have performed hundreds of them very successfully with very low complication rates. Major risks include pulmonary or fat embolism (blood clot) for less than 1% of patients, and anemia.
What to expect during the procedure
- In order to have this procedure, you must have a good amount of excess fat in other parts of your body (such as your thighs, flanks or abdomen) that can be extracted and then injected into your buttocks.
- During the procedure, I use liposuction to vacuum thin layers of fat from areas with excess fat deposits, then I layer these on top of each other in the buttocks to produce the desired contour and fullness. Approximately 50% of injected fat is reabsorbed, which is why I exaggerate the original fat transfer to account for this. In the vast majority of cases, a butt lift can last for many years.
- Because of the meticulous way the fat is extracted, processed and reinjected for permanent, natural-looking results, Brazilian butt lift surgery typically takes 2-4 hours. However, this depends on the amount of liposuction performed and the amount of fat to be reinjected into the buttocks.
- Following the procedure, special compression garments are typically worn for several weeks to help reduce swelling and to help shape the butt. People usually can go back to work about one week after the procedure. What seems to work well for my patients who work at a desk is to sit with your weight on your thighs and not your buttocks.
How long will the results last?
A Brazilian butt lift is a very long-lasting procedure. On average, expect about 50% of the injected fat to stay in the area and about 50% to be reabsorbed by the body, which is why I always put in extra fat deposits.
