Have you noticed that after having children, you have more “inches to pinch” than you’d like? Are there some love handles, saddle bags and tummy rolls you’d love to get rid of but no matter how much you work out and eat sensibly, they just won’t go away? If so, you may be like many of my patients who are mothers whose bodies are showing the long-term effects of pregnancy, childbearing and breastfeeding. For women who want their younger, trimmer body back, or even something better, I recommend a Mommy Makeover.
As well as a Mommy Makeover, I offer a wide range of other body sculpting procedures that can help you achieve a firmer, more shapely body. To learn more, click here.
A Mommy Makeover can correct changes from having children that diet and exercise can’t
Without surgical intervention, some of the physical changes that come along with having children can become permanent, such as separated abdominal muscles, sagging breasts, excess skin and stubborn pockets of fat. That’s where a Mommy Makeover can help. This combination of plastic surgery procedures can help tighten the abdominal core, lift the breasts, remove hanging skin, and eliminate excess fat.
A Mommy Makeover consists of a personally customized combination of surgical procedures that you choose. Having several surgeries at the same time rather than individually is actually more beneficial — not only do you get better results but you undergo one recovery rather than several, and are inconvenienced as little as possible. In my plastic surgery practice, I use the latest, state-of-the-art techniques to minimize my patients’ pain and recovery time so they can quickly return to their families and their lives.
Whether performed under local, “twilight,” or general anesthesia, a Mommy Makeover can include any or all of these six surgical procedures:
Breast augmentation surgery is performed to enlarge small breasts, underdeveloped breasts or breasts that have decreased in size after a woman has had children. It can also make breasts more symmetrical if one is significantly larger or smaller than the other. There are three types of breast implants available in the U.S.: saline (sterile saltwater), silicone gel and the Ideal Implant (a structured, saline-filled implant that combines the natural look and feel of silicone gel with the safety of saline).
Breast lift surgery restores the shape and contour of breasts that have sagged as a result of pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight loss, age, gravity, heredity and other factors. This procedure re-positions the nipple and areola (the pink skin surrounding the nipple) to a higher position, moves the breast tissue to a higher level, removes excess skin from the lower portion of the breast, and reshapes the remaining breast skin.
A Brazilian butt lift uses liposuction to take pockets of excess fat from unwanted areas such as your belly, waist or thighs and transfer it to the buttocks area, increasing the size, shape, position and fullness of your butt. The benefits of a Brazilian butt lift are two-fold: it slims and trims those areas where you have too much fat, while giving you a higher, fuller, firmer butt. Plus, since a Brazilian Butt Lift uses your own fat, there is very little risk of rejection.
Tummy tuck surgery, also known as abdominoplasty, is a highly effective way to reduce excess fat and skin and tighten abdominal muscles. A tummy tuck removes loose, flabby skin that has lost its shape and elasticity, strengthens weakened stomach muscles, improves the look and shape of the belly button, defines the waist, removes stretch marks, and creates a smoother, tighter midsection.
Lower body lift surgery, often done in conjunction with liposuction, reduces excess fat and loose, hanging skin. It is also very effective at tightening and sculpting the buttocks, back of the thighs, outer thighs, inner thighs, hips and abdomen. This surgery may also help minimize the appearance of cellulite.
A procedure with an extremely high satisfaction rate
According to a June 2020 survey conducted by The Harris Poll on behalf of RealSelf, a leading source for people considering cosmetic treatment, an impressive 97% of patients said that a Mommy Makeover is worth having. This plastic surgery technique also made the top ten list of highly-rated aesthetic procedures.
Are you a good candidate for a Mommy Makeover? If so, you should:
Do you need to lose weight before a Mommy Makeover?
While it is true that some fat will be removed during your Mommy Makeover, you will need to have lost the bulk of your “baby weight” before the surgery. This is necessary for optimal skin resection. I recommend being no more than 25 pounds over your goal weight before the procedure(s).
One of the first questions my patients usually ask me when they’re considering having a Mommy Makeover is how much it will cost. My answer is that there is no one standard price. Recognizing that every woman’s body and desired results are unique to her, I determine the exact cost of a Mommy Makeover after I have met with the patient, evaluated her body type, amount of fat stores, overall physical condition and her personal goals and expectations. Then together, we will decide which combination of plastic surgery procedures will achieve the best possible results. For further pricing details, please contact me.
Will my insurance pay for this surgery?
Generally speaking, Mommy Makeover surgery is considered to be an elective cosmetic procedure, meaning that it is not covered by insurance.
