Do you wish your butt were rounder, higher, firmer? Have you tried targeted exercises, yoga or weight training but are not getting the results you want? A Brazilian butt lift, or BBL, which includes both butt augmentation and butt reshaping, is an excellent way to achieve a fuller, sexier, more shapely derrière. It also can help you achieve a more pleasing balance between the shape, size and contour of your buttocks in proportion to the rest of your body. As well as the Brazilian butt lift, I also offer a wide range of other body sculpting procedures that can help you achieve a firmer, more shapely, younger-looking body. To learn more, click here.
A Brazilian butt lift uses your own fat so there’s no chance of rejection
During Brazilian butt lift surgery, I use liposuction to remove excess fat from certain parts of your body and transfer it to the buttock area to give you a higher, plumper and more rounded butt. I can also slim and trim away where you have too much fat while building up the areas where you would like more fullness. Since this fat is from your own body, there’s no chance of rejection. Plus, with a BBL there are no foreign objects or substances inserted into your body so there is no risk of implant rupture or displacement.
5 crucial questions to ask before you decide to have BBL surgery
A Brazilian butt lift is a transformative procedure that can dramatically change the way you feel about your body and yourself, which is why it is so important for you to be as informed as possible, something I recommend for all my patients. If you’re interested in having this plastic surgery procedure but aren’t sure which questions to ask, here are some things to think about during your initial consultation with your plastic surgeon. Asking the right questions prepares you for the procedure and gives you the confidence you need to make your decision.
1. Are you board certified and if so, by which board(s)?
Before undergoing butt augmentation, it’s very important to make sure your plastic surgeon is qualified to perform this highly specialized surgery. He/she should be board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) as well as the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS).
I myself am board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS), a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), and I am also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). In addition, I am on staff at White Plains Hospital, Northern Westchester Hospital and Lennox Hill Hospital.
2. How many Brazilian butt lifts have you performed?
You certainly do not want your plastic surgeon to be “practicing” on you and your butt. In my opinion, he/she should have performed hundreds of successful butt augmentation procedures, optimally for 10 years or more. Ask to see “before and after” photos (untouched) of different body types: slender, medium and heavy. This will prove that the surgeon has experience with all different body builds and will also enable you to find a body type that you can identify with.
My experience: With over 20 years’ experience and a thorough command of the most advanced surgical techniques and technologies, I consistently provide my patients with the highest level of plastic, cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the breast, face, skin and body.
3. Can you explain the procedure in detail to me?
The plastic surgeon performing your butt lift should be able to explain his/her technique so that you can understand exactly what will happen during the procedure. The Brazilian butt lift has 3 distinct parts: liposuction, fat processing and fat reinjection, and each component is critical to the success of the entire surgery.
4. How long will this plastic surgery take?
Because of the meticulous way the fat has to be extracted (liposuction), processed and reinjected for long lasting, natural-looking results, butt augmentation surgery typically takes 2-4 hours. However, this depends on the amount of liposuction performed and the amount of fat to be reinjected into the buttocks.
5. How safe is a Brazilian butt lift and what are the risks?
I believe the Brazilian butt lift procedure is very safe. This surgery is extremely popular and I have performed hundreds of them very successfully with very low complication rates. Major risks include pulmonary or fat embolism (blood clot) for less than 1% of patients, and anemia. Occasionally, there have also been some complications from injections of fat into the muscle, or into the veins and arteries that are in the buttocks area of the body. That is why experienced, board certified plastic surgeons make sure when we’re injecting the harvested fat that we insert it in such a way that will minimize the risk of complications, maximize the desired results and maintain the highest standards of safety.

Combine with liposuction for even more pleasing results
While undergoing a Brazilian butt lift procedure, many of my patients take advantage of liposuction to also remove fat from their tummy, waist area and thighs, creating a more pleasing balance between the size of their butt and the rest of their body. This is a great way to get that curvy, very feminine hourglass silhouette which so many women desire.
How to know if you’re a good candidate for a Brazilian butt lift
- You have lost a significant amount of weight and your butt now sags and droops.
- You are overweight and haven't been able to lose weight through physical activity and changes in your diet.
- You are at a normal weight but want to dramatically improve the appearance of your lower body.
- You are at a normal weight but your skin won't contract after liposuction due to poor elasticity related to aging.
- You are dissatisfied with the overall shape and lack of firmness of your butt.
Make sure you’re getting a butt lift for the right reasons
A Brazilian butt lift can be life-changing. As well as re-shaping your "behind," it sculpts and tones your overall body shape. I have found that this is often a wonderful turning point in my patients’ lives, boosting their self-esteem and enabling them to feel confident about their bodies, sometimes for the first time. For this reason, it’s very important to undergo this surgery for yourself, not to fulfill someone else’s ideas of what your body should look like.
How much does butt augmentation cost?
Often, one of the first questions my patients ask me when they’re considering having a Brazilian butt lift is how much it will cost. My answer is that there is no one standard price. Recognizing that every woman’s body and expectations for butt augmentation surgery are unique to her, I determine the exact cost of a Brazilian butt lift after I have met with the patient, evaluated her body type, amount of fat stores, overall physical condition and her personal goals and expectations. Then together, we will decide exactly what will achieve the best possible results. For further pricing details, please contact me.
