Many of my patients really like the shape of their lips, they’re happy with how they look, but they just want a little more fullness, what I call a little more “pow.” To achieve this, there are many fillers that can do that, either to enhance the line between the normal facial skin and the red skin of the lip, or to augment the top or bottom part of the lip, or both, to make the lips larger.
Then there are other patients who just aren’t happy with their lips. The overall shape isn’t what they want, they’re too thin, they don’t have enough structure to them, there isn’t enough of a difference between the lip and their facial skin, and their lipstick bleeds.
For these patients, I recommend lip augmentation, also called lip enhancement. This is just one of the many ways I can help you achieve a more beautiful face. To learn more, click here.

To enhance the fullness of the lips (make the lips larger), I use injectable fillers such as Juvéderm®, Restylane® and others.
To change the fundamental shape and provide a difference in the structure and highlights of the lip, I basically use the same injectable fillers that I use to make lips larger but the result is a different clarity, making the lips look more defined.
Either way, whether a patient wants to make their lips larger and fuller, or change their fundamental shape, injectable lip fillers are an excellent way to achieve this, and they last about 9 months to a year.
Another option for larger lips, if you are happy with the general shape of your lips and just want a little more enhancement, is to inject your own fat (taken from various areas of your body) into your lips. Approximately half of the injected fat will last long-term, even years.
However, I tell my patients that this is a different procedure than lip fillers which are injected, cause a little bit of discomfort, and the results are relatively immediate with minimal swelling. In contrast, although fat injections are a great way to enhance the lips, they cause a lot more swelling and therefore work best for patients who have sufficient downtime to recover from the procedure.
Many of my patients choose to have their lips enhanced at the same time they’re having other facial procedures, such as a facelift, nose reshaping, eyelid surgery or Botox®. The overall result is a fresher, smoother, younger-looking face, highlighted by sexy, full lips.
Because every person’s lips, mouth and face are different, and the results they are seeking from lip augmentation are specific to them, the exact cost of this treatment is determined after I have met with you and together, we have decided that this procedure can achieve the results you are looking for.
