Introducing EmSculpt®: The world’s only body contouring procedure that simultaneously builds muscle and burns fat, without exercise or surgery
How would you like to build muscle and tone your body but without strenuous exercise or resorting to surgery? Now you can with EmSculpt, a revolutionary non-invasive procedure that increases muscle and beautifully sculpts your body, especially your abdomen and buttocks.
I’m very pleased to now be offering this exciting new technology to all my patients and want to share the details with you so you can make an informed decision as to whether EmSculpt might be a good procedure for you. It truly is a breakthrough in the world of body sculpting treatments.
What is EmSculpt?
EmSculpt is a nonsurgical body sculpting procedure that uses an electromagnetic field to induce strong muscle contractions — which cannot be achieved by standard workouts — that bring about muscle growth and fat loss. It is meant for people with a BMI (body mass index) less than 25, who would not be candidates for other fat reduction treatments. Approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, EmSculpt increases muscle mass by 16% and reduces the waistline by approximately 19%, according to the BTL company.
How does EmSculpt work?
The EmSculpt procedure is relatively quick and painless. A rubber pad is placed on the target muscle area, such as your abs, thighs or buttocks. This pad then produces intense electromagnetic waves that cause involuntary supramaximal muscle contractions not achievable though traditional exercise-induced contractions.
When exposed to these hyper-maximal contractions, the muscle tissue responds similarly to how it responds to exercise: by releasing free fatty acids which break down and destroy fat deposits and increase muscular tone and strength, much like performing a sit-up or lunge would. These forced muscle contractions also cause the body to rebuild and repair muscle tissue, resulting in stronger, firmer muscles. In fact, you’ll feel the same soreness after an EmSculpt treatment that you would after a strenuous workout.
If you want to tone and sculpt your body but don’t have the time or energy for constant workout sessions, EmSculpt could very well be an excellent solution for you.
Frequently asked questions
-
Am I a good candidate?
Anyone can benefit from the EmSculpt procedure.
-
How long does a treatment take?
The treatment requires four 30-minute sessions — two a week for two weeks — to achieve maximum results.
-
What does it feel like?
An EmSculpt treatment feels like an intensive workout, but instead of performing strenuous exercise, you can lay down and relax during the procedure.
-
Is there any downtime?
Since the EmSculpt is non-invasive and non-surgical, it requires no recovery time or any pre/post treatment preparation.
-
How fast will I see results?
You will begin to feel tangible results immediately after the treatment. Positive results are usually reported 2-4 weeks after the last session and they continue to improve for several weeks following the treatments.
-
Are the results permanent?
No, the results aren’t permanent. If you stop the treatments and do not exercise the muscles in that area, the toning will stop, too.
How does EmSculpt compare to CoolSculpting?
EmSculpt might seem similar to CoolSculpting, the popular nonsurgical fat-reduction solution, but the two are actually very different.
- Unlike EmSculpt, which uses electromagnetic energy to stimulate muscles and firm up the body, CoolSculpting uses a device to freeze subdermal (below the skin) fat cells, which damages them beyond repair. Then, they’re eliminated through the body’s natural elimination process.
- People of all sizes benefit from CoolSculpting, whereas EmSculpt is best for people who are active, have a low body mass index (BMI) and are already at their ideal body weight.
- The results from EmSculpt are temporary. People who have the procedure must repeat the treatments every six months or so. On the other hand, CoolSculpting’s results are permanent.
- EmSculpt should not be used as an alternative to CoolSculpting, as the two offer completely different results. CoolSculpting is best used for fat loss, while EmSculpt is used more for muscle toning. Keep in mind, however, that EmSculpt can be a great follow-up treatment to CoolSculpting once the fat has been removed by the CoolSculpting procedure.
How safe is EmSculpt?
So far, studies have shown no safety issues with EmSculpt but it is still a new technology. Of course, the safest way to lose fat and build muscle tone is to work out and eat healthier. However, if you’ve tried to lose that belly bulge but can’t seem to make a dent, EmSculpt may be a good option worth exploring.
Contrary to gym advertisements, exercise is not effective when you’re trying to get rid of certain stubborn areas of fat, most likely because of genetics as well as hormonal and aging changes. Plus, it’s difficult if not impossible to achieve the hyper-maximal muscle contractions of EmSculpt, even during the most strenuous exercise. And unlike exercise, EmSculpt gives almost immediate results.
How much does EmSculpt cost?
Because every person’s body is different, and the results they are seeking from a body sculpting procedure are specific to them, the exact cost of this treatment is determined after I have met with you and together, we have decided that EmSculpt can achieve the results you are looking for.
